London Photography
The skyline from its rooftops, New Year’s Eve fireworks, live music from the pit, and the streets in between
I got my first camera, a Fuji, for a school trip to Scarborough when I was nine. I’ve taken a camera everywhere since, and most of what I photograph is London. These four portfolios are the best of it.
On New Year’s Day in 2017 and again in 2019, National Geographic ran one of my fireworks pictures as its Photo of the Day. Time Out once ran 23 of my London photographs. I was Visit London’s official photographer for the New Year’s Eve fireworks for three years, and I photographed the fireworks at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening and closing ceremonies.

London Skyline
The city from above: rooftops, penthouses and the odd job with a view. My first paid photography job was a view. After I photographed a charity event at the New Zealand High Commission, one of the guests commissioned my panorama of London from its penthouse, then had it printed full size and built into a wall of his flat.
Since then, a film company has used one of my London panoramas for a visual effects shot in a Paramount Pictures release. See my London skyline photography.
New Year’s Eve Fireworks
The first time I tried to photograph the fireworks, the police walked a friend and me off a building site. A few years later I was Visit London’s official photographer for the displays that welcomed 2016, 2017 and 2018, on rooftops that are closed to the public.
I take one booking a year, for a business with a view or a private client at home. Hire me as your New Year’s Eve fireworks photographer.
Down In Front: Live Music
At gigs, my mates and I used to arrange to meet down in front, in the mosh pit. With a camera, that’s where I work: in the photographers’ pit, between the barrier and the stage. The portfolio runs from Ghost at Wembley Arena to Skid Row at the Forum in Kentish Town. See my live music photography.
London Street Photography
A human moment makes me stop on the pavement. So does something abstract, or a good reflection in a shop window. I got hooked at college, on the library’s books of Garry Winogrand, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Lee Friedlander. See my London street photography.
Hire me, or use a picture
I’m based in Watford, and I photograph events across Hertfordshire and London, from birthdays in the pub to black-tie events at the New Zealand High Commission. Weddings have their own page.
Prints and licences are available for some of these pictures, and each portfolio explains what’s possible. To book me, or to ask about a picture, get in touch.
